New Jersey’s Rahmaan drops Gracious
Rahmaan drops the 10-track Gracious to celebrate his 21st birthday. He wears his heart on his sleeve for this project. It’s clear from the art work to the music itself.
“This project is an explicit summary of my wonderful love life between September 2016 to March 2017, yet taking inspiration from my emotional trauma throughout the past 5 years, tackling insecurity, emotional and physical abuse, and realization of self-worth,” Rahmaan states. “When people listen to Gracious, especially those going through tough relationship issues, I want them to feel and know that they aren’t alone. I want to be a helping hand and a therapeutic source for those who need help. At the same time, I want people to be able to listen to this project casually, which is why I executively produced Gracious to have it fit into more social environments as well.”
Gracious details a young man’s path towards confidence amidst insecurities. It defines his mental space and shows us where he is at on his creative journey.
“I have been making music for 7 years now, but I’ve only just started experimenting more with darker, yet commercial sounds, while implementing my culture and religion in what I say, and what instruments and chord progressions I use. This EP, finally, musically feels like myself — and this is the first time I’ve been able to confidently say that about my music,” Rahmaan adds.
He has also created a page with extra writing for fans to read a bit more into each song as well as a “special thanks” page for everyone who helped him on the way. Stream Gracious below and via digital platforms.
