ALASKALASKA puts an engaging, futuristic spin on Edwyn Collins’s “A Girl Like You”

a girl like you

Sonically speaking, nothing about ALASKALASKA‘s renditon of “A Girl Like You,” which is produced by Bullion, sounds like the Edwyn Collins original. The 1994 indie release has been transformed into a futuristic concoction of saxophone riffs, otherworldly percussion, discordant instrumentation, and a steady bassline.

“A Girl Like You” is part of Bullion and his DEEK Recording Imprint’s forthcoming compilation project, Covered In Gloria, which releases tomorrow and can be pre-ordered here. Stream ALASKALASKA’s “A Girl Like You” remix below, and catch the original afterwards.
