Slum Village's Young RJ shares “Issues” ft. BJ The Chicago Kid

Young RJ delivers thought provoking lyrics coupled with ‪BJ The Chicago Kid‘s soulfully finessing vocals on “Issues.” The single, produced by Young RJ and Detroit’s emerging producer, DAG, finds the Slum Village rapper and Chicago crooner complementing each other well.

Previously, Young RJ and ‪BJ The Chicago Kid worked together on “Expressive,” a single off Slum Village’s album, YES. They unite once again on their lyrics paint a picture of our current political climate, inner cities, and of course… personal inner demons. “I’ma spit 16 bars / Hopefully I touch 16 hearts,” RJ raps.

According to his management team (along with C’Jay Shaw of Politic Group ), “The collaboration could have not come at a better time.. given the economic struggles in cities like Detroit and Chicago, current police violence, and our political atmosphere…”

“Issues” is the third single from his debut solo album, Blaq RoyalT, which is slated for an October 10, 2017, release. It follows his previous single “Huh?” and another titled “Wait” featuring Pete Rock & Boldy James.
