In the wake of signing to Motown Records, D.C. emcee Chaz French has stepped up to the plate with a solid debut album, True Colors. The energetic, emphatic rapper doesn’t seem ready to slow down any time soon, either. The 17-track project includes guest features from Curren$y, Phil Adé, Shy Glizzy, BJ the Chicago Kid, Marco Mckinnis, Eddie Vanz, and more.

In regards to the project, Chaz stated: ““I put my heart and soul in to it. This album feels like a ride through my city, at the same time taking a journey through my experiences and emotions up to this point in my young rap career. DC hasn’t had many chances to have our voice heard on a large platform up until this point in hip hop. When I got my deal at Motown, that meant DC got a deal too. This isn’t just about me, it’s about the city and the world hearing our voice. No matter if we come from the same walk of life, if you’re from DC I want you to feel like you were a part of making this album because life in this city was and will always be my inspiration.”
