“I aint got much but I like it that way. I was sad one day, then everything changed.”
“Hotel Room” feels like a record I would have turned on while sneaking out of school an hour early as a high school senior. Don’t tell my mother. The light, summery release comes to us courtesy of Felly, a relatively new artist hailing from Connecticut with an array of talent at his fingertips. He nonchalantly offers us a window into his carefree mentality on the song’s opening verse. His delivery is easy listening, but charismatic. After the first verse, he switches gears and flexes his vocal prowess for the rest of the record. All of this is done over top of an instrumental that your uncle would dance to at the cookout. Felly produced this record himself, along with $ad Money and yog$.
Felly is currently gearing up for his forthcoming Wild Strawberries LP, which is slated to drop later this summer. “Hotel Room” is the fourth release from his ongoing “New Flavors” playlist. Keep an eye out for one new song from Felly every Wednesday until the LP arrives. You can stream every release from the playlist up to this point below. Check out Felly’s upcoming tour dates in New Jersey, Connecticut, and Massachusetts afterwards. If you like what you’re hearing, there’s more music to enjoy on his SoundCloud.
