Regardless of whether you enjoyed Broccoli City Festival 2017, or felt like you were missing out the fun, it’s great to hear that the Broccoli City family will be back in action with the Smile Project Carnival and Concert! This is a family friendly event with Universal Fairs at RFK Festival Grounds in Washington D.C. It’s a four day festival, from June 1st to June 4th. Headliners include GoldLink, Skai Jackson, and Rob Garza. Local acts such as April + Vista, Black Alley, and Jerome Baker III are also part of the lineup. Washington DC’s Parks and Recreation department has partnered with the event to sponsor 1,500 DC youth to attend for free.
Oh, and we’re the official media sponsor for the event! Expect more information about exactly what that means as the date draws nearer.
GoldLink actually has a close connection to the DC Parks and Recreation department – his father was an employee. BC founder Brandon McEachern explained: “we wanted to do something for the community and GoldLink and his team felt the same way.” GoldLink is coming off the success of his March 2017 release, At What Cost. Additionally, he’s been on tour across the country with Little Dragon.
Expect GoldLink to perform a few of his biggest hits from At What Cost, along with an array of other songs from his previous releases.
