You could easily say that 2016 was one of the best years for hip-hop in recent memory, but who had the BEST year? The contributors at Artistic Manifesto submitted their pick of which artist had the biggest 2016, and wrote a speech from that artist’s perspective. Now it’s up to you, the reader, to decide who should be the 2016’s President of Hip-Hop.
My fellow Americans,
I come to you from humble beginnings in Lawrenceville, Georgia, reppin’ the Nawfside. You know. . . DATWAY! We have heard your cries and we are concerned with our country’s anguish and despair. Your words no longer fall on deaf ears as a new nation is coming. A Yung Rich Nation is a on the horizon, but I’ll need your help to make it a reality.
Who taught you to finesse the plug on an island? Who showed you that, you too, were handsome and wealthy and how to cook like a professor?
We will touchdown on our enemies, hit ‘em with the left, hit ‘em with the right and knock ‘em out like fight night. Let us join forces united as one nation to finesse the forces of evil worldwide that seek to terrorize and harm the squad.
It’s time for change! You need a leader who ain’t wishy washy and always flip flopping from what they tell you they’ll do. You need a leader who has the grind and hunger of your friendly neighborhood trapper who got the bando jumpin’ like Jordan, but also keeps swag and culture dripping in the finest Versace. When things get slippery, you can trust Im’a get right witcha because I’m doin’ it for the culture. With my team of Offset, Takeoff, and the 300 Entertainment staff, we will see to it that you receive it. We’ll rebuild brick by brick in order to make America bad and boujee again.
We put that on Mama and QC the Label! Vote for Quavo!
