We came, we saw, we conquered: the ‘Views From The Grits’ bottomless brunch and day party brought a new vibe to Washington, D.C.

On May 1st, we teamed up with D.C.-based brand strategist Britt Wright to bring a brand new event to Washington, D.C. called Views From The Grits. The main goal? As Britt explains, “you could walk in the room and feel comfortable enough to turn up with anybody.” The event name was based around Drake’s VIEWS album, which was originally titled Views From The 6.

We had already planned ‘Views From The Grits’ weeks before Drake announced that VIEWS would release on April 30th, the day before our event. When that announcement was made? We knew this was meant to be.

D.C.’s own DJ NiteCrawler provided the soundtrack for most of the party, and got rave reviews from attendees. When the environment is welcoming, the drinks are flowing, and the soundtrack is on point, it’s hard not to have a great time. We swag surfed. We heard Drake classics. We rapped Andre’s verse on “International Player’s Anthem.” We sang along with 90’s classics and then screamed “We Gon’ Be Alright!” in unison with Kendrick. I lost my voice for at least a day and a half.

Britt elaborated: “we wanted to provide a unique concept catering towards millennials who appreciate all things Drake, all things Kendrick, and all things turn up. The food complimented the party, giving you a bang for your buck deal. Millennials are more price conscious, so this wasn’t just a typical party. It was a unique experience that capped off a Trap Karaoke and Broccoli City Festival weekend. It really resonated with people. We got in front of the trend, instead of behind it, which made it so successful.”

Check out some tweets from attendees below. Look out for an announcement about what we have planned next in the near future. Shout out to Belise Thomas for all of the event branding! Shout out to Bengii of EnHouse for the t-shirts! And thank you to Manor DC for having us.
