We knew about Kendrick Lamar‘s “I” for a long time before it actually released, thanks to the highly publicized artwork and rumors swirling around his sophomore album. Today, it has arrived. This is Kendrick Lamar’s first solo release since good kid, m.A.A.d. City. Los Angeles musician Rahki provides the colorful instrumental, and Kendrick adopts a number of the different deliveries we’ve heard him incorporate in past songs, promoting self-love in the process. Is this a hit or miss? It’s certainly different. Look for Kendrick’s sophomore album to release some time this year. Stream “I” below.
